A Good Title and Subtitle - Title - Make your title as descriptive as possible. The words in your title are called "key words". These are critical because they are what a possible buyer will type in while doing a search on the auction website. When a person makes a search, the auction site will look at their key word and give them all the titles with the same key word in it. Make the most of the space given by the auction site for your title. Do not use punctuation's or more than one space in your title. Here are examples of a poor title, and a good title. POOR: 17" Old doll with box GOOD: 1978 Strawberry Shortcake Doll MIB By using the year it was made, name of the doll, and the fact that it is (MIB - Mint In Box), will better the chances that it will be found when conducting a search for the item. Because most auction sites only allow 45 characters to be used in the description, you might also want to abbreviate words as well. Below are some common abbreviations used in auction sites.
- Subtitle - If the auction site has the option to have a subtitle, you may also want to use it. You can use this extra title to further explain what you are trying to sell. For example: Title - 1978 Strawberry Shortcake Doll MIB Subtitle - Comes with COA and more! |
